As lockdown life continues on the Gold Coast and residents look for ways to support local growers, artisans, producers and providores in the community, we have rounded up everything you need to know about who’s open and offering essential retail and takeaway services during this period.

FILL YOUR FRIDGE AND YOUR PANTRY:

If lockdown has inspired your inner foodie to get creative in the kitchen - or you’re just getting eaten out of house and home by the family - We have a number of essential stores trading for your convenience to fill your fridge and pantry with local goodies.

Carb-loading is a surefire way to feel better, and Bakers Delight is here for you, open daily from 7am and serving all their beloved baked goods.

We may not be having friends/family over for a BBQ this weekend, but that doesn’t mean you can’t fire up the barbie for a feast with the fam. Steak Kings and Country West Meats  remain open with their drool-worthy line up of gourmet cuts, dry-aged goods, poultry and pies.

Lockdown is a great time to prioritise your health and wellbeing, so swing past Earth Markets to stock up on the freshest fruit and veg, handpicked daily by this family-owned and operated business who are big on supporting local growers and farmers too.

With weekend plans out the window why not plan a lockdown picnic platter at home with some local and imported gourmet delicacies from Barbosa Fine Foods, stocked full of decadent dips, countless cheese varieties, chutneys, crisp breads and crackers, and any other platter accompaniment you can dream up.

Robina Town Centre’s two Woolworths supermarkets and Coles are also open daily for all your household essentials.

If you’ve a hankering for some good ol’ American-style wings, ribs and other pub classics,TGI Fridays is slinging takeaway and delivery meal deals from Thursday to Sunday to get you through ’til your next real-life pub fix.

Burgers without the guilt are a crowd-pleasing dinner option and Grill’d is ready to whip your order up in a jiffy via their convenient online ordering service. It’s a great time to try their new HFC (Healthy Fried Chicken) range too.

Speaking of burgers, The Kitchens’ classic burger shack Betty’s Burgers is also open for biz, offering their juicy burgers, decadent thick shakes and creamy ‘concretes’ (think frozen custard) as take-home treats.

Robina Town Centre is also home to a tempting selection of pan-Asian eateries that are here to satisfy your lockdown cravings: from Motto Motto’s loaded rice bowls and curries, to freshly prepared rice-paper rolls at Roll’d, sashimi and sushi platters at Hero Sushi, and authentic ramen bowls at Muso Ramen. For Malaysian and Hong Kong-style street food, Roti & Buns is meanwhile whipping up buttery roti bread and hot-from-the-oven buns oozing with sweet and savoury fillings every day.
